34 - Lanterns

Photo from my recent 3 months trip to Japan. I love that country more than words can possibly convey, and hopefully some of these images will help to share the awesome experiences I had and the amazing things I saw.

These lanterns in the grounds of the Kasuga Taisha shrine are donated by followers. There are far more than this photo shows, all over the shrine grounds, and you can walk amongst them. The colours are still absolutely staggering to me, even after having seen countless shrines all over Japan.
